Infrastructure Documentation & Controls Manager
SMBC Group EMEA are looking for an Infrastructure Documentation & Controls Manager to join our Infrastructure department.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Infrastructure Documentation & Controls Manager to join our Infrastructure team in Dublin. This contract role will play a critical part in improving the quality, consistency, and accessibility of infrastructure documentation and controls. The successful candidate will work closely with Infrastructure SMEs, ITAM, Technology Risk, and Audit teams to ensure documentation standards are upheld and that infrastructure-related information is accurate, well-governed, and readily available.
This role is designed to reduce the operational burden on team leads by enabling independent access to infrastructure data and documentation through tools and platforms such as Confluence, ServiceNow, SCCM, and VMware vSphere.
This role will be based in Sumitomo Mitsui Finance Dublin Limited (SMFD), a wholly owned subsidiary of SMBC. It was established in 1989 and is now located in contemporary offices in the heart of Dublin’s Georgian quarter. It is a Centre of Excellence for SMBC’s business in Europe, Middle East & Africa and provides a growing range of intra-group services across a variety of Control and Support functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and assess the current infrastructure documentation library and recommend improvements.
- Develop and implement documentation standards, templates, version control practices, and governance processes.
- Act as a liaison between Infrastructure, ITAM, Technology Risk, and Audit teams to support compliance and reporting requirements.
- Independently gather infrastructure data using tools such as ServiceNow, SCCM, VMware vSphere, and Active Directory.
- Ensure documentation aligns with CMDB standards and supports audit-readiness.
- Maintain and enhance Confluence-based documentation repositories.
- Identify opportunities to streamline documentation workflows and improve cross-team collaboration.
- Support infrastructure-related controls and compliance initiatives.
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience working within an Infrastructure department in a large enterprise environment.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure documentation practices, controls, and compliance frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Confluence (documentation management)
- ServiceNow (CMDB and asset data)
- SCCM, VMware vSphere, Active Directory (data gathering and reporting)
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication abilities.
- Ability to interpret technical data and translate it into clear, actionable documentation.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and proactively.
Desirable Skills:
- Familiarity with infrastructure-related compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO, NIST, GDPR).
- Experience supporting audit and risk management processes.
- Exposure to PowerBI or similar tools for reporting and analysis.
