Role Summary

The Innovation Team sits within OPPD – ITSD Architecture & Engineering and essentially supports the needs of the Capital Markets and Corporate Banking business by constantly questioning the process in the software development life cycle (SDLC) to ensure the project team is building the right product in the correct manner.

Test automation function establishes and maintain standards on how to best test a software product efficiently using Automation. Having solid software testing practices and automation is a huge asset to any team to produce a well-functioning application that meets end user requirements.

• Design and implement a POC framework for test automation using UiPath.
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts for financial software applications using industry-standard automation tools and frameworks.
• Execute automated test suites to validate software functionality, performance, reliability, and security.
• Participate in the review and refinement of software requirements, specifications, and design documents to ensure testability and adherence to quality standards.
• Contribute to the establishment and maintenance of Test best practices, standards, and guidelines tailored to the finance industry.
• Evaluate UiPath’s capabilities in test automation, including integration with CI/CD tools.

Business Area

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

The candidate will be expected to embed quality through all phases of the project and collaborate as part of the Test, DevOps and Development team for verification and validation of business requirements test scripts, management of specific project test environments, test data, test repository, defect management and test workload.

Business Analysis

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements, define test scenarios, and design test cases that ensure comprehensive test coverage.
• Consulting with BA team, reviewing test requirements and identify use-cases for validation.
• Act as a key facilitator within the team, acting as a bridge between the client stakeholder, BA, PM, and the software development team.

Collaboration and Management

• Collaborate with QA, DevOps, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and feedback.
• Present findings and recommendations based on POC outcomes.
• Provide technical guidance and support to other team members, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
• Manage and fulfil expectations of key stakeholders, Project Lead, Head of Innovation, Head of QA Automation, and project team.
• Uphold high level of integrity and ethics as set by SMBC.
• Good interpersonal and team-working skills and robust and organized approach to work.

Position Description

We are initiating a Proof of Concept (POC) to evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of test automation using UiPath. We are looking for a proactive and technically skilled Automation Engineer to lead this POC phase. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with UiPath’s Test Suite and a strong understanding of test automation strategies.

This role involves rapid prototyping, tool evaluation, and delivering a working demonstration of automated test scenarios. You will be responsible for delivering Test Automation for the various banking applications within the capital market technology. You will collaborate closely with developers, and business stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high-quality, automated testing solution that enhance the efficiency and reliability of our software products and business processes.
