Role Summary

SMBC Group EMEA are looking for a Product Owner for our Cash Management Solutions department to join our team.

 

This role is part of a rapidly growing CMS Team with a large and strategic mandate under the Transaction Banking Programme, focused on transforming how we deliver Cash Management services across EMEA.

 

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Leading the vision, strategy and delivery of integration products that support our Corporate clients across the region.
  • Defining and maintaining the product roadmap for Corporate Integration channels.
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for integration product capabilities and enhancements.

This role will be based within Sumitomo Mitsui Finance Dublin Limited (SMFD), a wholly owned subsidiary of SMBC and is growing rapidly as a Centre of Excellence for the bank’s universal banking business across EMEA.  It provides a range of technology and operational support services, aligned to SMBC’s growth, innovation, and transformation strategies.

Position Description

As a Product Owner for Corporate Integration, you will co-lead the vision, strategy and delivery of integration products that support our Corporate clients across the region.

You will work within the Cash Management Solutions (CMS) Team in ITSD, driving the development and enhancement of solutions essential for enabling secure, scalable and real-time integration between our Corporate clients and the Bank’s Cash Management platforms.

You will collaborate with regional business teams, compliance, operations and technology stakeholders and vendors, and ensure timely and high-quality delivery of integration features and connectivity solutions.

 

Our role will enable you to:

  • Define and maintain the product roadmap for Corporate Integration channels.
  • Align product strategy with client needs, regulatory requirements and global TB objectives.
  • Collaborate with regional business teams, technology partners, compliance and operations.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for integration product capabilities and enhancements.
  • Lead delivery teams through backlog grooming, delivery planning and prioritisation.
  • Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of integration features and connectivity solutions.
  • Translate business and technical requirements into user stories and functional specifications.
  • Maintain integration guides, documentation and onboarding materials for clients and partners.
  • Ensure integration products meet security, authentication and data protection standards.
  • Partner with risk and compliance teams to embed controls and support audit readiness.
  • Monitor usage, performance, and client feedback to drive continuous improvement.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance reliability, scalability and onboarding efficiency.

 

What will you bring to the role?

  • Strong and demonstrable experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager in banking or financial services.
  • Strong understanding of corporate integration technologies (Host-to-Host, APIs, SFTP).
  • Familiarity with Cash Management workflows and Client onboarding processes.
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies and product lifecycle management.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Exposure to ISO 20022, SWIFT messaging, Open Banking APIs (desirable).
  • Product Owner certification e.g., CSPO, SAFe PO/PM (desirable).
