Purpose of Job

We are seeking an experienced Power BI Developer / Data Analyst to join the EMEA Data Office Data Analytics team in Dublin. The role will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-grade Power BI reporting and analytics solutions that support strategic initiatives within Transaction Banking and the wider EMEA business.

The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, Business Analysts, Data Engineers, Solution Architects, and project teams to translate business requirements into robust, scalable, and insightful reporting solutions. The role will play a key part in enabling data-driven decision making through the delivery of high-quality dashboards, visualisations, KPIs, and management information solutions.

This position requires strong expertise in Power BI development, data modelling, DAX, SQL, and data visualisation best practices. The successful candidate will have a passion for transforming complex datasets into meaningful business insights while ensuring reporting solutions are governed, maintainable, secure, and aligned with enterprise standards.

Background

The Financial Crime IT function is responsible for delivering and supporting technology solutions that underpin the Bank's Financial Crime controls across the EMEA region. This includes services supporting Sanctions Screening, Transaction Monitoring, Customer Screening, Know Your Customer (KYC), and other Anti-Money Laundering (AML) processes.

As regulatory expectations continue to evolve, there is an increasing need for accurate, timely, and meaningful management information to support operational oversight, risk management, audit requirements, regulatory reporting, and strategic decision-making. The Financial Crime IT team works closely with Financial Crime Operations, Compliance, Risk, Change, and Data teams to provide reporting and analytics capabilities that enable effective monitoring of key financial crime processes and controls.

This role sits within the Financial Crime IT function and is responsible for supporting the development, enhancement, and maintenance of Management Information (MI) and Business Intelligence (BI) solutions using Power BI and related reporting technologies. The role will focus on delivering dashboards, KPIs, operational metrics, trend analysis, and executive reporting across the Financial Crime estate.

Working closely with business stakeholders and technology teams, the successful candidate will help transform complex operational and technical data into meaningful insights that support governance forums, senior management reporting, regulatory commitments, audit activities, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role will contribute to the ongoing maturity of Financial Crime reporting capabilities by improving data visualisation, automation, reporting efficiency, and data-driven decision making across the function.

The Financial Crime function supports the Bank's framework for managing Financial Crime risk across the EMEA region and is structured around four key pillars:

Financial Crime IT provides technology, data, reporting, and analytical capabilities that support these pillars, enabling effective risk management, operational oversight, regulatory compliance, and strategic decision-making across the organisation.
The function supports a broad portfolio of Financial Crime applications, services, and reporting solutions, delivering management information and analytics to stakeholders across Operations, Compliance, Risk, Technology, Audit, and Senior Management. As regulatory expectations and business requirements continue to evolve, the demand for timely, accurate, and insightful MI continues to grow.
This role will be part of the Financial Crime IT team and will focus on the development, enhancement, and support of Power BI reporting and analytics solutions across the Sanctions, AML, Fraud, and Compliance domains. The role will work closely with business stakeholders to provide operational, tactical, and strategic reporting, supporting governance forums, regulatory commitments, audit activities, and performance monitoring.

Accountabilities and Responsibilities

•    Prepare and transform data for use in analytics products using appropriate tooling and techniques. 
•    Deliver new analytics products using best practice data analysis and data visualisation techniques to translate complex data into insightful reports and interactive dashboards. 
•    Run proofs-of-concept to evaluate feasibility and value, uncovering benefits for our stakeholders, customers, and businesses.
•    Support the rollout and adoption of reporting and analytics products. This includes providing in-house coaching support and training for users and product owners.
•    Coordinate closely with Business Analysts to ensure agreed delivery processes are followed and that analytics development progresses as planned and remains aligned to approved requirements.
•    Ensure sufficient and appropriate documentation is produced to quality‑assure analytics development and support ongoing maintenance.
•    Collaborate with a range of technical and non-technical audiences to quality assure delivery of analytics products through development and UAT. 

Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Qualifications

Essential:
•    An outstanding problem solver who has an analytical mindset, is inquisitive and excellent with technology enabling a creative approach to solution scoping and delivery.
•    Strong experience with using Power BI to develop interactive data driven dashboards.
•    Strong SQL skills to support data discovery and profiling. This should include experience of working with raw and aggregated data and reviewing transformation logic as well as diverse and complex data sets and all data types.  
•    Strong data manipulation and preparation skills with experience of using Alteryx, Power Query or similar applications.
•    Experience of testing reports and data analytics dashboards.  
•    Effective written and verbal communication skills.
•    Experience of working in the financial services industry and knowledge of data related regulatory requirements for financial service sector. The ideal candidate will have experience working in an investment bank and a good understanding of transaction banking.
•    Demonstrable experience of training, mentoring and coaching others in the use of applications.
•    Ability to plan and manage own work to meet challenging deadlines with minimal supervision.

Desirable: 
•    A good understanding of core mathematical and statistical concepts. 
•    A good understanding of, and experience of applying, project management principles and approaches like waterfall and agile.
•    Experience of working in an organisation that has rolled out self-serve analytics tooling at enterprise level.
•    Knowledge of emerging trends and issues within the Data Analytics and Data Science landscapes.
•    Experience working with cloud environments & components (e.g. AWS, Azure).
•    A good understanding of Financial Crime applications databases
