Sumitomo Mitsui Finance Dublin Limited (SMFD) which is a wholly owned subsidiary of SMBC and is growing rapidly as a Centre of Excellence for the bank’s universal banking business across EMEA. It provides a range of high-quality technology and operational and control support services, aligned to SMBC’s growth, innovation, and transformation strategies. The role will be part of a dynamic, diverse team located in the heart of Dublin’s historic Georgian business district.
Role Summary
We are seeking an IT Technical Lead for E-Invoicing Platform (AVP) to manage the EMEA rollout for e-invoicing platform (PAGERO) within the Information Technology, Security Department (ITSD), Cross Product Platforms group. You will lead the design, development, architectural integration and evolution, maintenance and delivery of e-invoicing platform across SMBC EMEA entities.
This is a unique opportunity to partner with technical delivery team to implement the regulatory compliance solution, service ownership and operational excellence of integrating invoice solutions through a strategic architecture, driving transformation and influencing how SMBC supports Operations, Finance and Tax functions.
The role requires strong technical expertise, and service ownership to mature this capability for EMEA region, ensuring platform stability, continuous improvement and standardisation to enhance data quality, controls and alignment with global best practices. The role also encompasses system development, major enhancements, and strategic upgrades.
Position Description

Product Strategy & Roadmap: Define and implement strategy, roadmap planning, and architectural direction for rolling out e-invoice services across SMBC EMEA entities.

Backlog Management: Own, and refine the product backlog, prioritise technical and customer facing requirements.

Service Ownership: Owning the end‑to‑end delivery lifecycle covering solution design, development oversight, system testing, and controlled implementation of e-invoicing platform.

System Integration: Enable the integration of e-invoicing platform – PAGERO, with multiple invoice processing systems, including COUPA, Accounts Payable (ERP System) and migrating some in-house built invoice applications to the strategic platform.

Stakeholder Alignment: Collaborate with stakeholders across Finance, Tax, Operations, Regulatory Reporting to understand requirements, prioritise needs, and optimise invoicing solutions

Vendor Management: Manage vendor relationships, contracts and escalations effectively

Establish standardised operating models, governance controls, and quality frameworks across EMEA entities for invoice processing.

Monitor platform performance, risk, compliance, and audit findings, and leading the implementation of continuous improvements, remediation actions, and control uplifts
Required Experience

Domain Knowledge: Good understanding of Order-to-cash (O2C) processes, including experience designing integrations between SaaS platforms and ERP / Finance systems (Accounts payable, Accounts Receivable) and billing. Ideally hands-on experience with e-invoicing SaaS platforms (e.g. PAGERO, COUPA etc.)

Experience operating as a product owner in technology or a change lead accountable for delivery, funded roadmaps and long-term technology assets.

Agile Experience: Proven track record of working in agile/scrum methodologies, managing sprints and evaluating development progress with developers, QA and architects.

Delivery Management: Confident delivering at pace, across BAU, change delivery, testing cycles, and incident management

Strong communication, analytical and decision‑making skills, with a focus on structured problem‑solving and control improvement
Desirable Experience & Education and Qualifications

Experience working in a hybrid business/technology domain

Degree‑level education in Information Technology, Computer Science, Finance, Business Information Systems or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)

Professional certifications such as ITIL, Agile/Scrum, or data management qualifications are advantageous but not essential
