Who we are

Sumitomo Mitsui Finance Dublin Limited (SMFD) is a wholly owned subsidiary of SMBC and is growing rapidly as a Centre of Excellence for the bank’s universal banking business across EMEA.  It provides a range of technology and operational support services, aligned to SMBC’s growth, innovation, and transformation strategies

Role Summary

This role is key to the delivery of strategic IT solutions to Finance functions across all SMBC EMEA entities.
Specifically:
•    Lead the analysis, design, and delivery of individual financial solutions across SMBC offices in EMEA.
•    Work with a team of ITSD business analysts, JRIE and ITSD developers implementing required solutions across EMEA and the US.
•    Manage Stakeholders across Finance and other interested functions who are process owners.

Experience Required

We are looking for an individual with:
•    Bachelor's degree or equivalent
•    10+ years of experience in working within the finance sector with an understanding of financial instruments; securities, derivatives etc. 
•    Experience in a similar technology delivery role in dealing with Enterprise Risk Governance & Finance domains and working on data centric projects/Business Intelligence
•    Excellent communication skills with stakeholders at all levels 
•    System implementation and production support experience preferred 
•    Good Hands-on experience with Data analysis through SQL language (such as PL/SQL or T-SQL) 
•    Ability to work with various levels of business users, other IT staff and the vendor to resolve business and systems issues in a timely manner
•    Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are required 
•    Advanced skills notably MS Office suite (MS Office, Excel, Visio)          
•    Good Hands-on experience with Data analysis through SQL language (such as PL/SQL or T-SQL) 

Specific Qualifications and Skills Required

The successful candidate should be comfortable dealing with both business and technical teams and have strong communication skills.
•    Be able to critically analyse code and provide constructive feedback 
•    Ability to gather, analyse, document, manage business requirements, and convert them into useable system specifications.
•    Ability to communicate business concepts to technical teams and translate technical issues to the business community.
•    Ability to troubleshoot issues/user requests and determine appropriate solutions. 
•    A willingness to learn new systems and keep up to date with banking solutions and regulations
•    Good Time keeping
