Role Summary

We are looking for a Fin Reg Tech Lead and SME in EU Regulations to join our Cross-Product Platform team in Dublin.
This role is to:
- Lead analysis, design, and delivery of individual solutions into the Financial Risk Regulatory (FinReg) Reporting function across SMBC offices in EMEA.
- Supporting the Reg Tech IT Platforms lead with developing and evolving the FinReg IT Platforms delivery strategy, responding to change, regulatory and internal/external audit requests.
- Oversee and locally line manage the Fin Reg IT team in Dublin.
In this role you will:
- Work with a team of ITSD business analysts, JRIE and ITSD developers implementing required solutions across EMEA and the USA.
- Manage Stakeholders across Risk, Finance and other interested functions who are Regulatory Reporting process owners.
Business Area
The Cross-Product Platforms is part of the Information Technology, and Security Department (ITSD). This group serves SMBC by developing and maintaining integrated technology solutions that transcend individual product lines, fostering interoperability, scalability, and efficiency across various banking operations.
This role will be located within Sumitomo Mitsui Finance Dublin Limited (SMFD, a wholly owned subsidiary of SMBC. It was established in 1989 and is now located in contemporary offices in the heart of Dublin’s Georgian quarter. It is a Centre of Excellence for SMBC’s business in Europe, Middle East & Africa and provides a growing range of intra-group services across a variety of Control and Support functions.
Position Description
This new role forms a key part of the EMEA Cross-Product FinReg IT Platforms team, driving delivery and enablement of IT solutions for EMEA Financial Regulation covering all legal entities and appreciating the intertwined requirements in Regulatory, Resolution and Transactional Regulatory requirements.
This role is key to the delivery of strategic IT solutions to Regulatory Reporting functions across all SMBC EMEA entities.
We are looking for an individual with:
- Strong experience in a similar technology delivery role in Commercial, Merchant and Investment Banking Dealing with Enterprise Risk Governance, Risk and Regulatory Compliance (GRC) in the Risk & Finance domains.
- Excellent communication skills with stakeholders at all levels including third parties with the ability to set and explain Risk Technology changes to a non-technical audience and mitigate issues and business impact caused by incidents.
- Transformational Leadership skills at a delivery level to motivate all involved delivery stakeholders.
