Role Summary
The Loan IQ Application Support AVP is responsible for the EMEA business user support including the stability, performance and continuous improvement of the Loan IQ platform. To achieve this, the role involves the delivery of activities such as:
- Triage of user issues and incident management.
- Escalation to EMEA service owner where applicable.
- Providing technical and functional support.
- Collaborating with the Business Process Owner and Business Groups to improve business processes.
- Support of project work when applicable including the QA team in Tralee
The role requires a deep understanding of syndicated and bilateral loan processing, strong technical acumen and experience with Loan IQ.
Business Area
Loan IQ provides loan booking and servicing functionality across the three product pillars (Loans, Trade Finance and Leasing Finance) offered by each of the front office pillars.
Lending makes up c.60% of EMEA gross profit, contributing c.$1.2bn pa.
Engaging with IT and non-IT colleagues at all levels in EMEA is key to being successful in this role.
Engaging with external vendors in a confident manner is key to being successful in this role.
Position Description
- Provide Level 2/3 support for Loan IQ (including incident resolution, root cause analysis and identifying preventive measures).
- Log issues and track incident resolution (JIRA, SNOW etc)
- Collaborate with business users, operations and technology teams to resolve functional and technical issues (such as unwinding incorrect processing; identifying workarounds for system limitations; investigating / explaining reconciliation breaks; investigating / explaining incorrect P&Ls and Balances).
- Escalate to EMEA Service Owner for more complicated issues to be investigated
- Monitor system performance and ensure high availability and reliability of the Loan IQ platform.
- Test, document and present bugs to Finastra for resolution.
- Assist in application upgrades, patches and configuration changes.
- Assist with Loan IQ testing with downstream interfaces and Tokyo for new products / codes or any other downstream requests.
- Answer any questions and explain Loan IQ functionality to the QA team to enable understanding of their test results vs expectations.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing.
- Respond to inquiries from JRIE regarding the extraction of data via SQL.
- Support the Cognos team by understanding business requirements and creating SQL queries for reporting purposes.
- Monitor Loan IQ – OBS failures.
- Implement new OBS mappings and IIB interface mappings for ARR changes.
Skill, Experience and Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Finance or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in application support, with at least 3 years supporting Loan IQ.
- Strong understanding of Syndications, Agency, Loan Trading and Interest / Fee Calculations.
- Familiarity with Loan IQ Code Table Configuration.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes and tools (e.g., ServiceNow, JIRA).
- Previous experience in User Acceptance Testing.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, regulated environment with on-call responsibilities.
Preferred:
- Experience with Loan IQ APIs, data extracts and reporting tools.
- Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in SQL, scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python), and batch job monitoring.
