Role Summary

The role requires extensive knowledge of Corporate Finance theory, practice, documentation and execution and may include knowledge of other financing approaches such as trade, leasing and asset financing.

The role has no direct reports but is responsible for helping to train and support colleagues with internal processes and lead lead multiple deals — both within the team and across the department.

Although there is not a budget specific to the role, the role is supporting the achievement of the team budget.

Business Area

Main interfaces/relationships are with MEAD:

ISD Teams and department members up to GM level

Credit department, loans adm in, CP D, legal, other marketing departments (CBD1 &2, GTFD, SPD etc), OAD, Nikko CM (DCM and swaps), LCM, TD etc in EMEA

Other EMEA offices

Other regions and head office for specific transactions and marketing activities.

Customers (financial and industrial equity), other banks and financial institutions, DFIs & ECAs lawyers, accountants, specialist engineers, insurance advisors, public sector up to national government level --at senior and CxO level.

It would be expected that the role would work on 6-12 transactions each year with some lead roles.

The role requires managing own time and that of other staff and resources in changing and challenging environment and management support tasks on strategy and business development. The role may involve new business development in certain areas.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

Position Description

Leading deal teams in the marketing for, origination of and execution of transactions.

Supervise the preparation of credit applications and help to train and supervise more junior staff in that role.

Supervise the preparation of credit applications and manage data input for GBR, EIC, CF Grading and other systems, and help to train and supervise more junior staff in that role.

Liaise with all relevant departments within EM EA required for marketing and execution including CD ,OAD, CPD, legal, other marketing departments (CBD1 &2, GTFD, SPD etc), OAD, Nikko CM (DCM and swaps), LCM, TD, Other branches including Brussels.

Interpretation and analysis of financial accounts, both historic and projected.

Preparation of information memoranda, marketing materials, including PPT presentations for corporate finance and other ancillary business initiatives

As appropriate, financial modelling and analysis for in support of transaction lead and as pat of an advisory team.

Understanding the Bank's internal procedures and processes and applying them correctly and in compliance with all rules and regulations and monitor and support junior staff in doing so.

Working on asset management, and other areas of ISD wider business as requested.

Attendance at borrower bank presentations financial results presentations and other market-related information functions relevant to the position

To carry out marketing activities for the team.

Dealing with customers for origination of regulated products including telephone and face to face meetings.

Preparing externally facing marketing materials in line with the guidelines and seeking compliance approval.

Taking responsibility for a specific customer group (market, product region).

Performing the overall country relationship function, marketing and related duties within the assigned countries.

Facilitating cross sell of SMBC products through liaison with and introduction of specialist product departments.
