We’re looking for a Planning & Third Party Oversight Manager - Assistant Vice President (f/m/d) to join our Strategic Planning Department, EMEA Division, Düsseldorf Branch!

You will directly contribute to strengthening outsourcing compliance, strategic planning and operational efficiency for the Düsseldorf Branch.

 

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating and monitoring the branch’s outsourcing arrangements, including SLA and KPI oversight.
  • Supporting the Strategic Planning Department with planning, governance, reporting and local strategy coordination.
  • Acting as a key liaison with various internal and external stakeholders, including auditors.

 

For you to succeed in the role, you’ll need to have:

  • Relevant experience in outsourcing and third‑party risk management, with good knowledge of German/European outsourcing regulations.
  • Strong organisational, coordination and communication skills.
  • High proficiency in German and English as well as strong MS Office skills.

Position Description

About this role:

 

This role ensures that outsourcing processes at the Düsseldorf Branch are compliant, transparent and well‑governed. It plays a key part in maintaining regulatory compliance, supporting strategic planning activities, and strengthening operational efficiency. The position interacts with multiple internal and external stakeholders across SMBC EMEA, contributing to a smooth operational environment and sound risk management.

 

Stakeholders include:
Internal departments of the Düsseldorf Branch, SMBC EU, SMBC BI, SMFD Supplier Assurance, 1LoD and 2LoD functions, senior management, internal and external auditors, and relevant authorities.

 

Our role will enable you to:

  • Monitor outsourcing arrangements, contractual frameworks, KPIs and SLA changes.
  • Support the development and onboarding of new SLAs and service agreements in collaboration with 1LoD and SMFD.
  • Coordinate regulatory notifications, outsourcing committee materials and management information reporting.
  • Support planning processes, policy updates, internal/external audits and preparation of committee presentations.
  • Participate in outsourcing‑related projects and regulatory initiatives such as DORA.


What will you bring to the role?

 

Essential:

  • Knowledge of German and European outsourcing/third‑party risk management regulations.
  • Experience working with audits, regulatory topics and multi‑stakeholder coordination.
  • Experience within the financial sector in Germany and the ability to manage complex operational requirements.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, organisational and analytical skills.

 

Desirable:

  • A qualification or education in banking, finance or third party management.
  • Experience preparing management information and presentations.
  • Familiarity with cross‑functional project work and process optimisation.
