Role Summary

 

Is the next step in your career at SMBC Group EMEA? We’re looking for an Operations assistant to join Operations and Administration team. 

The candidate will participate within the Business Support team to daily activities coverage in close coordination with local staff members and London teams .  

The candidate will follow a diligent training on activities and proactively , under the supervision of the Head of Department, act to acquire the knowledge and assist in streamlining and facilitating daily jobs

What will be required from the Self motivated, energetic, flexible and collaborative candidate is a strong willingness to learn and follow instructions obtained from team members in relation to all tasks to be covered, the ability to think outside the box and apply risk based logic to situations as they arise in order to achieve timely resolution and lastly excellent communication skills, with the ability to deal effectively at all levels

Business Area

Operations and Administration department in Paris covers a multiple series of activities which are mainly concentrated on daily coverage of transactions presented by Japanese and local corporates. The scope of activities is made of domestic and foreign transfers, current accounts documentation handling, reporting to Management and local authorities, managing contacts with customers, local Front officers and London office departments. Under the supervision of the Head of Department the candidate will need to closely work with a team of three staff . 

Position Description

The candidate will take part: on the daily assistance of the team on accounting entries and bank account reconciliations, cheque remittances, bank transfers, the follow-up of SMBC BI Paris customer transactions managed by SMBC BI London, customer relations and the follow-up of the payment of supplier invoices. • the preparation of various reports, • research work in the context of anti-money laundering legislation, • Review and update accounts receivable and accounts payable files.

Profile sought: : Business Management student, • Rigor and reliability in the work provided, • Strong motivation, Ability to work in a team and to work within limited deadlines, • Very good command of Excel, Word and Powerpoint office tools, • Fluency in English, both oral and written.
