The SMBC Early Talent Programme is an EMEA Wide Corporate and Investment Banking development programme focussed on attracting top junior talent to our organisation at an Associate level. The programme is known internally as Kaika.  In Japanese Kaika means blooming (as in flower) It is a also a term used to describe someone who has discovered their innate talent. 

Kaika is a 24 month Front Office proragmme, offering practical training comprising of an orientation to SMBC and the Financial Services industry. Formal training and development is provided in partnership with London Institute of Banking and Finance. Kaika participants undertake 3 x 8 month rotations through Risk and/or Credit, Client Coverage and Products.
